- Turn off radio and computer near you
- Get as much information from caller as possible:
When is the bomb going to explode?
Where is the bomb right now?
What kind of an explosive is in it?
What does it look like?
Why was the bomb placed in this building?
Who are you? - Record time call is received and number call came in on
- Remain calm
- Try to determine the following:
Sex (male/female) Age (adult/juvenile) Voice (loud/soft/intoxicated)
Accent (local/foreign/nationality) Speech (fast/slow/slurred/lisp) Manner (calm/angry/emotional/laughing) Noises (machines/traffic/airplanes)
- Keep person on line as long as possible
- Inform supervisor of bomb threat call
- Call police and building management
- Alert life safety team of bomb threat call
- Complete Bomb Threat Report, See Exhibit 5
- Search your premises for suspicious packages
DON’T
- Panic
- Discuss with anyone other than supervisor or building management
- Disturb any suspicious packages
